We study how nanomaterials interact with living systems.
The BioNano Interface Research Group investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms governing interactions between engineered nanomaterials, microorganisms and eukaryotic cells. Our research combines nanobiotechnology, microbiology, cell biology and materials science to understand bacterial adaptation, mitochondrial responses, mitophagy, cellular senescence and the biological activity of advanced nanomaterials.
Our goal is to understand, predict and ultimately engineer bio–nano interfaces.
